More has been revealed about the next limited-time event for Apex Legends.

Via EA’s website, Apex Legends Design Director Jason McCord has gone into detail about Respawn Entertainment’s next limited-time addition to the free-to-play title – the Battle Armor Event. As McCord discusses, the mode will be playable from April 28 and end to coincide with the release of Season 5 on May 12.

The event revolves around Season 4’s Evo Shields, starting the player off with said armor but removing all other Shields from the map. As the schedule progresses, players will begin games with increasingly buffed iterations of armor with the following:

“Tuesday, April 28 @ 10am PDT – Saturday, May 2nd @ 10am PDT: Level 1 (White) armor only.

Saturday, May 2 @ 10:01 am PDT – Wednesday, May 6 @ 10am PDT: Level 2 (Blue) armor

Wednesday, May 6 @ 10:01am PDT – Saturday, May 9 @ 10am PDT: Level 3 (Purple) armor. We expect to see some drawn out fights as everyone drops with some of the best armor in the game.

Saturday, May 9 @ 10:01 am PDT – Tuesday, May 12th @ 10am PDT (when Season 5 kicks off): Evo Armor only. Players have been asking for this since we introduced the concept of Evo Armor, so we’re particularly excited to see how this unfolds. And if you want a pro-tip from me: get in fights early, or you’ll be left limping into the final circle with Level 1 armor! We’re also turning on double Level XP for Top 5 finishes across all modes during this phase.”

Each match will also start the player off with a P2020 pistol. And while Shields won’t be lootable, everything else will – this includes healables like shield cells and syringes, as well as weapons and mods. It’s going to be hectic, especially those last few days.

Apex Legends continues to have an active player base since its base release in February 2019. Respawn has supplied four seasons of gameplay over this time as part of the game’s roadmap, including a variety of maps and limited-time events such as the only recently finished “The Old Ways.”
