Call of Duty Players Outraged As Update Sizes Keep Increasing

Call od Duty: Modern Warfare

After continued updates Call of Duty: Modern Warfare‘s file size now takes up close to 200GB of file size on PS4.

The latest patch from developer Infinity Ward leaves Call of Duty: Modern Warfare at a colossal 185GB. This comes despite their promise that a previous update of 50GB would lead to smaller patches in the future. Technically, they’re not wrong but a 12GB update and 18GB of DLC adds up, and the game is close to taking up half of the internal storage on the PS4. That’s a lot for one game.

Infinity Ward did warn of the hard-drive demands before launching on PC, recommending to set 175GB aside. They explained this would accommodate future updates and patches. However, the game now exceeds this amount.

Fans have flooded social media, taking to Twitter and Reddit to voice complaints about the file sizes. Many are frustrated at having to delete various other titles from their consoles, just to fit the one game in. This is particularly notable as the updates include numerous bug fixes, so players need to download them in order to have a complete experience.
