SuperMash Comes To PS4 This May

Mash game genres with SuperMash coming this May.

A childhood dream of many gamers is to develop their own game, the problem is… that takes work. Sometimes you lose the luster of wanting to make a game, but what if the game made itself? It sounds silly, but that’s what New York-based Digital Continue is bringing us with SuperMash.

The game will let you take two genres, be it platformer and JRPG or Metroidvania and stealth or even another combination, it’s all up to you. The game will then create a brand-new game for you to play around in and share with your friends. You don’t even have to pick multiple genres if you don’t want to. Let’s say you like platformers, no need to muddy the waters with a stealth or JRPG genre, just make a pure platformer if you want.

Currently, SuperMash will come pre-packaged with six genres to mix, but don’t let that fool you, it isn’t the same every time. The glitches, goals, and surroundings are different each time. They even tacked on multiple different difficulties to make the game all that more challenging. Not only that, but they also seem to be planning on adding genres in the future, too.

You can even customize the “finished product” with dev cards to modify the enemies or environment. It isn’t solely you playing the game, either. Each time you combine genres, you can share its distinguished code with your or the world to see, punch in, and get to playing.

SuperMash is coming out on May 8.

Are you going to pick yourself up a copy? What genres are you going to mash? Tell us below!

Absolute favorite game is Journey. I do things on this site like edit articles, publish them, and all that. If I'm not here, I might be over on our sister site, Nowtendo.
