The Birdman and his friends return for a modern remake of both Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2.
Long-time Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater publisher, Activision, announced details of the long-rumored entry in the franchise. Rather than a new entry, the series aims to go back to its roots – completely rebuilding the first two games from the ground up.
Previously handled by Robomodo after Neversoft folded, the team involved with this game’s development is Vicarious Visions. Perhaps best known for handling every portable port of the series from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 up until Proving Ground, this will be their team’s first main title.

Boasting the original cast, original music, and original locations with a modern coat of paint, the series aims to capture fans lost from the previous entry, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 – infamously considered to be the worst entry in the series.
This isn’t the first time that the series attempted to build a time machine to the past. Prior to 5, Robomodo aimed to reclaim the series’ former glory with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD. The attempt led to polarizing reviews, oft labeled a Frankenstein’s creation of the old Tony Hawk with a newer roster, music choice, and a not-as-faithful gameplay engine.
There are three versions available for pre-order. The base game, listed under the suggested retail price of $39.99, and the Digital Deluxe edition for $49.99, which includes bonus content and gear for your skater.
The third, Ultimate Edition, contains everything from the Digital Deluxe edition including a limited-edition skateboard deck from Birdhouse.
